Day 01 :
Arrival at Bagdogra – Transfer to Phuentsholing

On reaching Bagdogra Airport our representative will welcome you. Drive towards the Indo-Bhutan border town of Phuentsholing ( a border town in Southern Bhutan serving as the primary gateway from India as travellers enters from Jaigaon)

Complete immigration formalities and relax after your journey.

Overnight stay in Phuentsholing

Day 02 :
Phuentsholing to Thimphu (150 Kms Approx. 5–6 Hours)

After breakfast, begin a scenic drive to Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan located at an altitude of 7655 feet above sea level through lush forests and mountain roads.

Cloudy weather with mist & fog makes the journey even more beautiful, on the way you may take a short break for tea/coffee or Suja (Bhutanese tea) with noodles.

Tashichho Dzong

Located on the northern edge of Thimphu along the banks of the Wang Chhu River, this impressive fortress-monastery serves as an important administrative and religious centre of Bhutan. Originally constructed in 1216, it has long been associated with the country’s governance and spiritual leadership. Today, it houses key government offices and the central monastic body, making it one of the most significant landmarks in Bhutan.

Centenary Farmers Market (Explore on your own)

A lively marketplace where local farmers from Thimphu Valley and nearby regions gather to sell fresh, organic produce. It’s a great spot to interact with locals and experience Bhutan’s authentic lifestyle. Visitors can browse through seasonal fruits, vegetables, handmade products, and local specialties such as honey and mushrooms.

Clock Tower Square (Evening Leisure Walk | Explore on your own)

A popular hangout in the heart of the city, Clock Tower Square stands out with its unique Bhutanese design and four-sided clock tower. The area comes alive in the evening, offering a relaxed atmosphere with beautifully painted structures, local shops, and cozy cafés. It’s an ideal place to unwind, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy the local vibe.

Once you reach Thimphu check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring local markets.

Day 03 :
Thimphu Local Sightseeing (Full Day Tour)

Pickup: 9:00 AM | Lunch: 1:00 PM | Drop: 5:00 PM

National Memorial Chorten

Built in honor of Bhutan’s third king, this revered monument is a symbol of peace and spirituality. It is a vibrant place where locals gather daily for prayer, making it an excellent spot to witness Bhutanese traditions and religious life.

Buddha Dordenma

Perched atop a hill overlooking Thimphu Valley, this massive golden Buddha statue is one of the largest in the world. The structure houses thousands of smaller Buddha statues within, and the viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city.

Motithang Takin Preserve

A peaceful nature reserve dedicated to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Originally established as a zoo, it has evolved into a protected habitat. A short uphill walk is required, so comfortable footwear is recommended.

Simply Bhutan

An engaging “living museum” that offers insight into Bhutanese culture and daily life. Visitors can experience traditional customs, try local attire, enjoy folk performances, and even participate in activities like archery. It’s an enjoyable and interactive stop, especially for families.

National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Closed on Sundays & Government Holidays)

This institute preserves and promotes Bhutan’s thirteen traditional arts and crafts. Visitors can observe students practicing skills such as painting, wood carving, and sculpture—an excellent place to understand Bhutan’s artistic heritage.

Simtokha Dzong

One of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan, built in 1629 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. This historic dzong holds great cultural and religious significance and now serves as a centre for Buddhist studies.

Day 04 :
Thimphu to Punakha Sightseeing (Approx. 80 km | 2–3 Hours Drive)

Pickup at 9:00 AM | Lunch stop around 1 to 2 PM | Evening return by 5:00 PM

Enjoy a scenic drive from Thimphu to Punakha, passing through breath taking mountain landscapes, Extremely clean and wide roads, serene valleys, and iconic Bhutanese landmarks.

Dochula Pass

Situated at an altitude of around 3,100 meters, this picturesque mountain pass offers stunning panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas on clear days. The site is adorned with 108 beautifully constructed stupas, creating a peaceful and photogenic setting. During winter, the area is often covered in snow, adding to its charm.

Punakha Dzong

Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan, this architectural masterpiece is located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. The fortress showcases intricate woodwork, traditional Bhutanese design, and holds deep historical and religious importance.

Punakha Suspension Bridge

Pickup around 9:00 AM | Lunch stop between: 1 to 2 PM | Return to hotel by 5:00 PM

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive from Punakha to Paro, passing through beautiful valleys, rivers, and traditional Bhutanese landscapes. Upon arrival, begin exploring the cultural highlights of Paro—one of Bhutan’s most picturesque destinations.

Kyichu Lhakhang

One of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan, Kyichu Lhakhang is believed to be part of a network of 108 temples built to subdue negative energies across the Himalayas. Its serene surroundings and spiritual ambiance make it a must-visit pilgrimage site in Paro.

National Museum of Bhutan

Originally constructed as a watchtower in 1649 to safeguard the region, this circular structure now houses Bhutan’s National Museum. It showcases an impressive collection of traditional art, artifacts, textiles, and historical relics, offering insight into Bhutanese culture and heritage.

Rinpung Dzong

Taktsang Monastery Excursion ( The Tiger's Nest Hike)

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. You can take a relaxed walk around the town, explore local markets, or enjoy authentic Bhutanese cuisine. Don’t miss the chance to try freshly prepared momos and other local delicacies at nearby restaurants.

Optional Experience: Chele La Pass Excursion (At Additional Cost)

For travelers seeking an extended experience, opt for a visit to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan for majestic view of the Himalayan Peaks in Bhutan.

Located at an altitude of around 3,988 meters, Chele La offers spectacular panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and pristine valleys. During winter months, the route is often adorned with snow, frozen streams, and alpine scenery, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers. On clear days, you may even spot grazing yaks in the distance, adding to the charm of this high-altitude destination.

Phuentsholing to Bagdogra Airport (Approx. 150 km | 4 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed towards Bagdogra Airport, marking the end of your memorable Bhutan journey. Enjoy the scenic drive as you transition from the tranquil landscapes of Bhutan back into India.
